The smell of the freshly ground organic fair-trade coffee tempts you to linger, whilst the range of locally made food at competitive prices makes The Café a great place to lunch with friends.
We also have a license to serve alcohol with meals which gives you the opportunity to try some local beer or cider.

How to Save Energy at Home
A series of talks during February, March and April was held at the shop. These talks were very interesting and successful and we will be looking to run some more. If you have suggestions for a subject please let us know.
The Brockweir and Hewelsfield Village Shop has several low energy features such as a 5kW photo voltaic roof and ground source heat pump, and has over its lifetime generated about 25 Megawatt hours of electricity from its solar roof, saving over 17 tons of Carbon Dioxide.
But we can do better! We need to focus on using less energy as well as generating renewable energy.
The shop has organised a series of three evening talks to explore how we can save energy and money in our own homes through insulation, draft proofing, modern lighting and lifestyle changes.
We will also look at how we can generate heat, power and light.
ART IN THE CAFE

There is always an exhibition by a local artist or photographer and a crafts person in the cafe.
The exhibition changes very six weeks.
Usually the items are for sale.
