Art Exhibitions

In the café area we host exhibitions of local artists' work.

The work is on show for 6 weeks and sometimes begins with a private view.

Paintings and photographs are for sale and the shop take a small percentage of any pictures sold.

Our art committee consists of three local people (two artists and one member of the Village Shop Committee), who are very keen to maintain a reasonably high standard of work, so the artists are asked to send some reproductions of their work and a summary of any exhibitions they have been a part of.

 

If you are interested in exhibiting you should fill in the application form which you can obtain from the shop, and send it, with a selection of photographs, to the shop, care of Alison, Project Manager.

Joy and John Boustred
Joy Boustred explores the contrast of light and shade through portraits, still life and landscapes. Prices range from £95-£250. John Boustred's principal interest lies in portraits and the human figure. He also paints landscape and still life. Prices range from £95-350. They are both members of the Wye Valley Art Society.

David Young
David lives in Usk and mainly works in watercolour. He is inspired throught literature and music. Prices range from £100-£160

Kathy Lowe
Kathy Lowe works mainly in pastels, building up layers of colour to create a soft painting which is similar in effect to an oil painting. She is inspired by nature and light and colour. Her favorite subject are portraits. Prices range from £100-£200.
